Friends,
Bad news. Times are lean. Venture capital dollars aren’t gushing into On Drugs like they used to. Keeping this thing running is a lot of work. We’re simply not generating enough paid subscribers to keep the operation afloat.
So, we’re selling out.
Of merch!
Join us in celebrating the absurdities of “the space” by adorning some of our merch from our brand new pop-up storefront: https://ondrugs.printify.me/.1
You’ll get a really cool, snarky product; and we’ll get a razor thin profit!
What better way to celebrate psychedelic capitalism and show off your inner psychedelic spirit?
Two shirts are available now—with more to come:
Coffee mug more your style? Got that too.
Phone clothes:
And, show off some Oregon 109 love with a shitty ornament for $109:
And finally, the On Drugs charity item—a special treat—the HPPG hat:
$10 from each hat sale will be donated to Porta Sophia.
I’ve mentioned Porta Sophia here before. It is building a psychedelic prior art library—an endeavor I personally support. I recently made a donation.
Why am I plugging Porta Sophia? Simply put, rather than fantastically calling for abolishing psychedelic patents, the non-profit is building a communal resource to (partially) address a narrower problem: aiding examiners that may not understand the scope and content psychedelic prior art by curating it. Porta Sophia provides us with the same tool, for free, and in an equal, accessible manner. Sharing knowledge is cool—which is why most of On Drugs is free. Is the solution perfect? Not close. But doing work toward a better status quo beats complaining and doing nothing tangible every day and Sunday twice.
So, if you love On Drugs and you’re into a robust psychedelic patent system, buy a cool hat. If you’ve got money left over, buy other merch. And if you’ve got any pennies left over, consider donating them to Porta Sophia or any non-profit that deeply thinks about a problem, shows you a thought out solution, and most important, is willing to actually do the work.
We’ll both be at Psychedelic Science 2023 next week. Attend our panels. Skip the exclusive rich people events and luxe retreats, buy a hat, and grab a drink with us at the hotel bar.2 We’ll have some stickers and try to have a little bit of merch with us, if you want some, but not too much.
To be clear, these are all made an owned by us and not any consulting group or hired help, albeit we purchased licenses for images.
If you can’t find us, we’re probably toiling away at drafting a Reply brief in this case regarding rescheduling psilocybin. Or my forthcoming essay on Oregonized Crime.
Which hotel???
I hope you're not going to stop posting here. I could not really follow what you just said. I love the title "Oregonized Crime" and can't wait to read it !!!
