Matt Presents on Patents
As my profile grows, so goes my ego. As well as speaking/publishing opportunities.
Due to my patent publishing prowess, I recently received an invite to speak with researchers at the Johns Hopkins Center for Psychedelic and Consciousness. Of course, I accepted. I consider it a privilege to orally present Hot Psilocybin Patent Garbage and talk about patents with those doing the essential work. Indeed, my primary motivation for much of the “space” work I do—whether litigation, writing, or anything else—has been promoting evidence-based arguments and opinions in a field rife with misinformation; and until recently, on the science side, often sparing in neutrality and/or quality evidence.
As a lower Marylander—and as one who prefers inner harbors not to be lined with trash—I have few good things to say about Baltimore (although the trash wheel looks cool). But I do hold the Center and its researchers in the highest regard. Much of the modern, seminal evidence-based research on psychedelics (but not all) comes from the Center or those at the Center. Even more, the Center has graciously allowed me to share the presentation (pre Q/A) with you. In the presentation, I talk about the article. I also give some unfiltered opinions on patent law.
So, I am sharing—first with subscribers. I believe in freely sharing, but (believe it or not) we have some newsletter overhead with FOIA requests. Indeed, we’ve recently dropped some new materials in the library, such as DEA posters/presentation on scheduling. I’ll lift the paywall and post the full video at the end of the month in an update and share other videos as they come on a similar basis. In the meantime, if you want to see me riff on cannabis with Montel Williams, that is on YouTube.
